Essay
Robert Frost one said, "Love is an irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired." You're asking yourself, what are you talking about. Love. I'm talking about love. Yes I know, its a touchy subject. Well maybe this will make you a little more comfortable; wouldn't you rather be loved than hated? Or maybe for some of you, your still not sure what love is. So I'm going to elaborate for you.
Love is any number of emotions and experiences related to sense of strong affection (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love). So for all of you that have your special sweetheart that you know what love is. The question is do you know how to love? To me love is very complex. I feel that love is when you become and do things selflessly instead of selfishly for some one else. Also when you give up your wants and needs to make the other person happy and to meet their wants and needs.
Some of you might ask yourself, but what does love feel like? Well just imagine if you ate love. If love was a food that you could eat how would you feel eating it? I would say that once you bit into it, it would be juicy, messy, but sweet and it would feel like fireworks in your mouth. Then after you ate it you would feel sparkly, caring, nice and kind. You would feel all warm inside. That is what you fell like when love is around without eating it (if your in love then you know what kind of feelings I'm talking about).
Although you might be something new to you it's been around forever. Even before humans were on earth. The earth loved the animals and the animals love each other and the earth. Then after humans became part of the earth so did love follow. There have been many people in this world that have shown the world what love is to them. For exapmle, Bob Marley. He sang about love and what love was to him all the time. One of his famous songs was "No women no cry", which was dedicated to his mother out of love. Love has been around everyone's lives. Wither it's been from your parents, friends or signifcant others, everyone knows love in some way.
In my life I am very fortunate to have so much love. I have found my significant other; I am loved by my family and friends. I couldn't live without love. I wouldn't know what to do. Love is important to all living things. Don't be afraid to show people that you love them. Love makes the world go round. We all need it to survive. So you might as well get used to it and get out there and love.
